The usb connection isn't very good, but its better than nothing. So this thing is not much of a deal, I got it "free" with the purchase some some SD memory. Its finicky and likes to unmount on you randomly.
Highly recommend it. I just put my SD card or SD adapter into this thing to view my pics on the computer at any time. I didn't even completely understand what I was getting when I bought this. But I love this thing.
Unlike Kaedy says, this product does NOT slide the lock switch into the "locked" position. So, that may be the case with miniSD cards, but it is doubtful) And, unlike LJV says, this product is compatible with SDHC cards (>2Gb).
you actually have to pay $3.49 for the shipping on it. I have used this product to read & write from 4Gb & 8Gb microSD (w/ addapter) and SD cards. Also, the promotion says that it is Free with purchase, but beware.
This product does work as advertised. (although I have not tested it on any miniSD cards, because I do not have any.
So, you may as well buy a nicer one for a little extra money. All in all this is a decent product, and you can't complain about the price. It's not the best card reader I've seen, but it will get the job done, especially if you don't have a built in media reader on your computer.
So, you can read & write to/from the card and delete from the card that is inserted.
(The only thing is that it's another little thing that you have to keep around) Its very handy to just plug it into my USB port too. I was glad to have gotten this for free with my order of HDSD cards. Some people are not aware that a lot of computers/labtops are not able to directly read these HDSD cards from the built in multimedia reader.
That's right, shipping included. Shipping included. It works as it's supposed to, but the seller is selling it for more then four times you can buy it elsewhere. I have since bought two others, both under a dollar apiece, and one for $.39 cents.
